YO, ELLA es una conversación visual entre madre e hija después de un aborto. Desde el autorretrato desnudo y el documentalismo íntimo, la obra explora el cuerpo como archivo vivo: un territorio donde identidad, herencia y afecto se trenzan para nombrar lo que duele, lo que persiste y lo que todavía busca reparación

La pieza nace de una investigación autobiográfica que retoma elementos del álbum familiar, el cuerpo propio y la memoria compartida como formas de reconstruir identidad. Esta metodología, desarrollada durante años de trabajo personal, reconoce que la intimidad, el abrazo, el tacto, la voz, es también un método de investigación y una vía de conocimiento

A través de imágenes que revelan vulnerabilidad y fortaleza, YO, ELLA reconfigura las nociones de origen, maternidad y futuro. Lo hace desde un gesto profundamente corporal: un autorretrato desnudo que no expone, sino que escucha; que no busca representar un cuerpo ideal, sino encarnar una verdad emocional.

La obra construye un espacio afectivo y ritual donde duelo, memoria y esperanza se entrelazan para sanar lo innombrable. Reconoce en el cuerpo la posibilidad de volver a mirar lo heredado, de reconciliarse con la historia propia y de permitir que el cuidado sea una forma de resistencia y de vida

Self-portrait , Nude bodywork as a practice of reconciliation, memory and care

YO, ELLA is a visual conversation between mother and daughter after an abortion. Through nude self-portraiture and intimate documentary work, the project explores the body as a living archive a place where identity, inheritance, and affection weave together to name what hurts, what remains, and what still seeks repair

The piece grows out of autobiographical research that brings together family-album photographs, the body itself, and shared memory as ways to rebuild identity. This approach, developed over years of personal work, understands intimacy the embrace, the touch, the voice as both a research method and a form of knowledge

Through images that reveal both vulnerability and strength, YO, ELLA reframes notions of origin, motherhood, and future. It does so through a deeply embodied gesture: a nude self-portrait that does not expose but listens; that does not aim to idealize the body, but to inhabit an emotional truth

The work creates an affective and almost ritual space where grief, memory, and hope intertwine to heal what cannot be spoken. It recognizes the body as a place to revisit what we inherit, reconcile with our own history, and allow care to become a form of resistance and a way of living
